Have you ever wondered why some people seem to build their businesses so easily?
And often it doesn’t stop with just one, they do it over and over.
You may think, “Well they must have been at the right place at the right time.”
Or, “They’re just one of those lucky people.”
You know what I see? I see people that just GO for it. They don’t give up and they don’t let anyone tell them that they can’t do it.
So what’s stopping you?
Is this you?
You have so many certifications but still, think you need the latest and greatest training.
You’ll start putting the effort into growing your Biz AFTER you get to that next level.
The problem is, there will always be another class or course you can take.
So the question is, what is really stopping you?
There has to be some point where you just go for it, put yourself out there and build with what you have right now.

You can do it all, just not all at the same time.
It is next to impossible to build a business while getting yet another certification.
It takes a lot of effort to do both of these and if you spread yourself too thin you won’t do good in either.
I realized a while ago that you need to focus on one thing at a time. There has to be a point where you bring that clientele to you and actually get some REAL work done.
That’s what you want right? To practice what you’ve learned and trained in.
So I’m going to let you in on a little secret.
Something is holding you back and it’s NOT that you don’t have enough credentials.
Here are some questions to find out what is slowing you down.
1. Fear of failure
Are you afraid you might fail? Then ask what’s the worst that can happen? A lot of my clients have a fear that people will look down on them or make fun of them if they fail. So they stop before they even get started.
First off it doesn’t matter what others think. It only matters how you feel about it.
What I do is start a list of what I’m afraid of. I then rate it on a scale of 1-10 and I use The Healing Codes or a Custom Healing Code to knock that sucker down.
What if others make fun of me?
So if your fear is what others would say about you, then that is what you would address in your code. This fear of what others would say or think of me. You are addressing the fear itself.
FYI, I just had a client say her years of fear in moving forward with her business is gone and that was done in one session. She is floored and roaring and ready to go! Pretty cool!
2. Relationships
Do you worry that people will think differently about you if you succeed? What if they get jealous or what if they think YOU think you’re better then them. You don’t want this to be a bad thing with your relationships so you hold yourself back.
I would address the worry in this. It’s close to fear but with a slightly different feel to it. You care about the people around you and don’t want those relationships to be negatively impacted and that’s’ a great thing.
What to keep in mind is that it’s all about you again. You can choose to build yourself up and still be an inspiration to others. There are many successful people out there that have great relationships and carry on in their lives in a wonderful way.
3. Losing it all
What if you succeed and then lose it?
I had this come up with someone a while ago. His parents were very successful with their business while he was growing up and then he saw them lose it all. That impacted him so much at a young age that he had this fear of losing it before even having it.
Life has no guarantees but we continue to live our lives every day.

There are so many entrepreneurs who failed over and over. Then that one breakthrough happened. They learned a lot from the failures and were grateful for them in the end.
4. Expectations From Others
What if you’re successful and everyone expects something out of you. I was surprised the first time I heard this one. I guess it happens more than you think. Maybe you don’t want to be in that position of telling someone no. It can be uncomfortable, right?
This is where healthy boundaries should be made. Of course, you want to help others and you can, but you just need to give yourself permission to say ‘no’ at some point.
So the question here is, how do you feel when you say no? Do you feel guilt or shame?
That is exactly what I would have you address while doing a session on yourself. That guilt or shame is a biggie and will block your success. Think of it like driving a car with your foot on the gas and break at the same time. It’s tiring and confusing. Not a formula for success.
You are in the driver’s seat of Success. It’s up to you to make the right turns and navigate to your destination.
Trust me using The Healing Codes work and once you experience it you will have a tool that is effective, easy and versatile.

I needed this today, Melissa, as I feel like I’m struggling but that’s the perfectionist coming out in me, I think.
My motto after reading your terrific post? Let it go, let it flow!
That’s great Beth!
I love it… ‘Let it go, let it flow.’ Perfect!
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Great encouragement with this post, Melissa. I know I can get stuck with fear at times. I remind myself that there is nothing to lose and to just go for it. Thank you!
Thanks Cathy,
I appreciate you taking the time to visit! Have a great week girl!
Things I’ve learned a long the way: Overnight success takes 10-15 years. Nope, I didn’t need another certification but I did need to learn how to create the right business for me. Not the business everyone said I “should” do or the one I’d be good at. The right business for me is the one that combines writing, yoga, and martial arts. I finally figured it out. And as soon as I did…I picked up two private yoga clients, the dojo I train at gave me a 5 week spot to teach Yoga for Martial Arts, and in early November, I’m offering an in person workshop that involves yoga and writing (journaling, stream of consciousness, creative, hush the inner critic and let it flow)
That is so great Peggy! I totally agree. Finding that business that works for you personally and feeds your passion is so important. I think many people are seen as over night successes and it can be very misleading to people starting out. It definitely takes perseverance and passion.
What type of Yoga do you teach?
I love hearing from you, thanks for stopping by.
I teach regular, normal, traditional yoga, Melissa 🙂
I really like your reminder that entrepreneurs don’t immediately experience success. Business building takes time and persistence. I definitely have had to work through the fear of losing what I’ve invested in my practice, but for now, my passion for my coaching career far outweighs any fear I might face. Thanks for some excellent reminders Melissa!
Thanks Stacey,
We go through so many changes in our lives. I don’t know who ever started the thought that we had to stay on one path and keep going forever… I think as we grow it’s natural that we would want to do things differently. I’m so glad you’ve embraced that change.
I love what I see in you. Thanks for visiting!
Spot on Melissa, Follow One Course Until Success, so easy to get sidetracked and right now I need to read this and say no right now so i finish what i have started and then get my book written
Thank you
Thanks Suzie,
I know how you feel. I get so many ideas I want to do all at once but then it takes a lot longer to get done. It’s so much more rewarding getting each project done completely. It actually keeps us going and lifting us up. I get so down when I have to much going on with a lot hanging over my head.
The age of multi tasking over kill needs to stop. Take one step at a time and complete the task at hand… Ok now I know what needs to be done TODAY 😉
Thank YOU Suzie!
Absolutely! It’s so easy to think that success is easy – from the outside, and that something outside is going to bring it, when in fact it’s really mostly just hard work. . .
When you can push through those fears and face it, you have a real shot at success. Thanks for giving us the tools to fast-track our way there with the healing codes! So amazing!!
Hi Jessica,
Thanks for visiting. I always love seeing you here.
I agree it is hard work but it can be fun too. Usually after you’ve been on a specific path for a while you acquire the tools you need to get ‘er done 🙂 You don’t need to keep looking for more validation. As you said pushing through those fears is so important orrrrrr it will never happen. We have to take that step and just MOVE. I love your posts on this topic btw. Facing fear and moving past it to achieve what you want in your life. Love it.
Hi Melissa,
What you said about “going” for success has hit the nail on the head. The fact is we really need to transcend excessive concerns with others’ reactions.
I have been witnessing this time and again.I know a close friend of mine who never looked back after setting out on his enterprise.
We need to question our false sense of vulnerability as well,if we genuinely intend to succeed. Some questions are powerful wake up calls…..
Are you totally open and totally vulnerable to outer circumstances and other people? Are you only 50% vulnerable to getting your “buttons” pressed or are you 25% vulnerable to getting your “buttons” pressed by outer circumstances and other people ?Or are you only 10% vulnerable?Do you have a choice over how vulnerable you want to be?Or do you have no choice at all over your vulnerability?
Thanks
Mona
Yes Mona,
That false sense of vulnerability comes back to our core beliefs and how we feel about so many things in our lives. We do have a choice in how we feel and the sooner we recognize it the better!
Thanks so much for your input! As always I love hearing from you.
My biggest fears of failure have to do with what others will think of me and my self-worth. I’ve started to realize though that it doesn’t matter. Even if you do fail, in the long run, most people, including your close friends won’t even remember too many of the details. You are the one who has to live your life, so why not give everything your all : D. Thanks for the reminders to stop sabotaging myself.
