When things get dirty enough we have to clean, that applies to so many different things in our lives.
Many times we have to become uncomfortable with the mess before we even start because we know it’s not going to be easy. A lot of times it even get’s worse before it gets better. I always think of this when I am working on my own issues as well as my clients. Many times we get uncomfortable as we are healing.
Things get stirred up and we stress that we are getting worse. We get upset because the whole point of doing these dang Healing Codes is to get better, right? That is true, we want to heal, to become whole or just plain improve our lives.
Sometimes things get uncomfortable when you are working toward that improvement and I look at that discomfort as a positive sign.
That means you are heading in the right direction. The Healing Codes can bring up many things that you don’t want to deal with physically, emotionally and spiritually. Just like with any healing modality, there is a detox effect, as your cells are finally free to release everything they no longer need. Your body sets up its own way of dumping these things whether it’s a headache, achiness, stomachache or maybe irritability.
Anything can come up as it’s on it’s way out. Emotions can be a huge player in this way as well. You get emotional or feel down over nothing, sometimes feeling agitated, out of sorts and confused. Doesn’t that all sound like fun? Uhh No! It does seem to happen to a small percentage of people doing The Healing Codes, though.
The term we use for this is called a Healing Response; others may call it a Healing Crisis. Whatever the name used it isn’t fun. I’m telling you all this because I want you to know you are not alone.
Have you noticed that people get dirty doing anything constructive?
Think of a carpenter remodeling a house, they come home looking pretty messy. There is paint on their jeans and sawdust in their hair. When you look at the actual house, it is an absolute mess, usually with walls torn down and holes everywhere, it can be barely recognizable. It’s pretty ugly for a while, very uncomfortable and unlivable in some projects.
Then the turning point starts.
The walls are all sheetrocked and painted and the cool stuff starts getting installed. The tile is laid and the shiny appliances are set. You walk in when the project is done and barely remember how uncomfortable the remodel itself was. You are just so happy with your new home and are ready to settle in and enjoy.
When we are working on our health it is a similar feeling. You may get a little uncomfortable at times but remember to keep your eye on the prize, the end result. You will be able to settle in and enjoy your life again at that time. Right now it’s time to get your overalls and gloves on and keep moving. Roll your sleeves up, let’s get a little dirty!
