Digging up Emotions
I was just talking with a colleague about The Healing Codes and how to help clients understand how this great tool works.
I’ve noticed that sometimes people get caught up trying to find memories or negative beliefs to work on.
While it is highly beneficial to find those memories, it is very counterproductive if you are creating undue stress for yourself while looking.
Are you a ‘digger’ type person leaving no stone unturned?
Does your mind keep searching many times during the day, even interfering with what you are really wanting to be focused on?
Do you obsess over finding that last piece, that you just KNOW, will be the one that will set you free?
Then it’s time to stop.
You are creating more stress and this can actually inhibit your progress.
And here is the BIG kicker…
Most of what you need to heal is most likely subconscious and inherited. So you will never be able to remember it.
Also, an incredible amount of what has impacted our lives with the highest charged of emotions are under the age of 5. A big reason for that is, during that age we feel everything at such an exaggerated level, leaving long lasting impressions.
I don’t know about you but I don’t have many memories back that far. I remember being electrocuted by sticking a bobby pin into a light socket one time.
That was a shocker-Ha Ha… I know, I know, but it is a true story.
I would have to say, that would be one of the very few. Thank God.
Oh, and I did step on a nail one time…I forgot THAT one till just now. See what I mean things ‘will’ surface.
Do I remember my mom leaving me with my Aunt for a couple of months when I was under a year old? Nope, but I know it had some major impact with my fear of abandonment issues.
That memory was something I worked on for many years and you know what? It has helped me in many ways. I have no way of remembering that far back but that memory has helped me resolve many of my negative beliefs.
As I was working on any issues around the fear of being abandoned, I started feeling lighter and more secure over time. It was only after talking with my Mother later, that she told me about that period of time.
I’m not saying to give up looking.
I do want you to look for the earliest memory, with the highest charge emotion, that resonates with your current situation.  But please, please, please, don’t dig so hard creating a new stress that you don’t need.

If nothing surfaces that’s ok. You’re body, mind, and spirit all know what needs to be addressed next.
In many ways, it does that anyway even if you try directing it to what you ‘think ‘ you want to be healed.
Remember we don’t know if there is a bigger problem going on in our bodies so it’s always good to trust and know that your body is perfect in prioritizing what is most important. Thankfully.
The Healing Codes help brings old junk to the surface for clearing and is created to neutralize the negative images, unhealthy beliefs, and destructive cellular memories. Â It can still do all that even without specifics and may be a little slower but it still works over time.
Maybe it’s time for a break.
If you want to really give yourself a break just set up a session with me and let me test to see what you need to work on next.
It can make the process so much easier for you AND I build you a code that is for you specifically.
So if that sounds good to you just click HERE and we can set a time up to get you coasting without adding more stress to your plate.
I’m not a big believer in ‘digging up’ old memories Melissa…why reinfect myself by actively seeking negativity. As you say, if it pops up then you can manage it. I much prefer to look at what’s not working and decide what I want to experience and focus on that instead. I know this wouldn’t suit everyone, there are definitely many people who have different beliefs about this than I do…and that’s okay. Whatever works best…we’re all so fabulously unique. I enjoyed your uniqueness here. 🙂
Last year I found that writing my Morning Pages as prescribed by Julia Cameron’s ‘The Artist Way’ had a huge impact on helping me recall and deal with painful memories, which in the past I couldn’t recall. I do believe it’s important to allow ourselves to heal from these hurts – real or imagined – in order to move and grow -but like you said there’s always a ‘right’ time for that, Melissa.
I agree Corrine.
Journaling is a great way to find your way for sure. I love it! I feel that all the old unfinished business we have floating around our minds really can have a huge affect on our current happiness and well being. For me, working through all that has changed so many things. I will be forever grateful 😉
Thanks for being here and have a great week!
I am so glad i read this days letter. It helped alot. I am definitely a digger of memoires and sometimes I end up so stressed and negative wow… thank you for sharing all of you. My husband is the exact opposite.. it Ãs so hilarious how different we are. Praise God. I absolutely love doing the alpha inducer before I do the Masterkey and LT3. I can just feel how it brings me out of stress and into calm. Thank God for such wonderful tools for Healing.
God bless you all,
Annbritt
Thanks Elle,
I always test to see what comes up naturally at each session and most of the time unconscious memories or beliefs do surface. Sometimes people want to ‘dig’ more, and I really try to get that point a crossed to them. By digging to hard it does actually as you said ‘reinfect them’. I love the quote, “what you resist persists.” Easing into what needs to come forward right now today is here for a reason.
Thanks for visiting girl!
Thanks for teaching me something new. I didn’t even know there was something called Healing Codes. Ended up exploring your site to find out what it’s about.
I came by way of Corinne at Everyday Gyaan.
Hi Damaria,
I am so glad you stopped by and have learned a little something about this wonderful technique. I know your time is valuable and I’m honored you spoke up.
If you need any help or want some more info let me know and I’ll email you with it.
Also thanks for letting me know how you found me. Corinne is wonderful!
Have a great week!
The old and painful memories are like cobwebs in our mind , crowding and attracts the spiders of negativity. Brushing them off with the broom is necessary.
Great analogy 😉 Thanks for sharing and stopping by.
I hope your week is beautiful!
Mellisa, this is a healing process and learning process as I read it. So many of us do not explore the past yet we dwell in it. If only all of us could understand and accept the past; the world will be a better place.
It holds us back and diminishes our life force. Thank you for sharing this and more. Have a wonderful time ahead and keep enlighting us.
Thanks for visiting Inderpreet,
I hope you have a great rest of the week!
Yes Melissa uncluttering the mind often need more work than the physical stuff, I too find the morning pages helping for releasing the past an also use EFT. I have also found the The Journey process by Brandon Bays a wonderful way for surfacing and releasing childhood memories, the ones that hold us back
Thanks for visiting Suzie,
there are so many great tools out there. I still use EFT for the situational stress and love it. We are so fortunate to have so many more choices these days to find a good fit. Making it a routine is so helpful to keep that balance in our lives.
Have great weekend girl!
Hi Melissa, I love your take on how old memories affect our life later on and the value of exploring vs dwelling.
Thanks Lily,
I love your name… So much I gave it to my daughter as well 😉 I’m glad you liked the post. Thanks so much for stopping by.
I used to be a strong believer of the past is the past and not to dwell on it or bring it up. However I realised in order to move forward we do sometimes need to address old memories/ past situations so we can release those blocks and be free to move forward with life.
Thanks for stopping by Ingrid.
Yes it is amazing how much accumulated stress is stored in cellular memories. Once it is dealt with so many things in your life are able to fall into place. You feel so much lighter… you can actually breath again.
